What Up With WPmu?

Hi there everyone. Just a quick update from us here at Interval on what’s been happening lately with Wordpress Multi User sites. Its nothing to worry about right now, but there have been some scares on other hosts.

It seems that our old adversaries, the dreaded spammers have been busy destroying yet another great idea for bloggers – the WPmu host setups that provide easy to create free blogs on the popular Wordpress platform. As usual, any good idea eventually gets exploited by these thoughtless brain dead morons and they go and wreck it for everyone else by deluging the hosts with spam blogs.

Well, this hasn’t happened here at Intervalinc, because we closed the doors on any registrations from outside the forum, which has resulted in only clean, legitimate and I have to say, damn fine looking blogs being created here that are reader friendly, full of useful content and you would be proud to show them off to your mother!

So while other free hosts are being de-indexed by Google as their reaction to the spamming problem, we should remain in the clear and your blogs should remain indexed as long as we don’t get cast by the same net as those that are full of spam. We believe in fair play and like to think that the people at Google do too.

So we are glad to see that spammers are being dealt with swiftly, just please remember that there are those of us that are also on your side and want only index friendly blogs on our host. We are surfers too and no one likes to land on a spam blog, so we’re doing our bit to ensure that when surfers land on our blogs, they get a quality read and a reason to come back again and again!

So keep up the good work everyone and keep that quality flowing!

Closed Community Blogging

Hi there folks, just a quick note to remind everybody that Interval is set up to be a closed community host and is not open to the general public for creating blogs on.

Only members of the forum will be permitted to create users and blogs on this host as a way of keeping it clean, legitimate and worthwhile. People have been working hard to create relevant, informative blogs and we don’t want all that hard work to be spoilt by bad people getting in here and creating crappy blogs that won’t pass the terms and conditions for quality laid down by Google.

So you can rest assured that your hard work making good quality blogs will not be compromised by any less than honest people who are the scurge of the search engines and we all know the kind of entities that I’m referring to.

So if you want to register a new user, please contact admin via the forum so we can verify you are who you say you are and we’ll be happy to oblige.

Welcome to Interval!

Welcome to Interval, a fantastic new information and education rich closed community blog host!

Interval is powered by the popular Wordpress MU (Multi User) platform, which is a package that allows, in this case community members to create their own WP themed blogs right here for free.

By making full use of the highly flexible Wordpress MU platform, members can set up great looking blogs by using the selection of fantastic Wordpress themes that are available. To add to that, there is full set of WP plugins that you can use to further personalize your blog.

Here at Interval, we allow members do do just about whatever they want with their blogs within reason. Of course, no one wants to see anything anti-social or unsavoury, such as race or religious hate, p0rnography, sp6m, terrorist propaganda, or any other subject that could be construed as being contrary to morally good taste.

How To Create a Free Blog?

First of all you’ll need a user name. You do this by contacting admin via PM in the forum giving a valid email address and suggesting a user name for yourself. Once you get your email confirming your user namer and password, you can log in from the Interval main page. Then click the “Create a New Blog” link. Type in the URL and blog name you want and hit “Create New Blog”. If the URL is not already in use by another member, then it’s yours. If it is, choose another similar URL and try again.

Type in a URL and name that is relevant to the blog you are setting up. So if you want a blog that will be your own personal diary, create a URL called “mydiary”, or something similar if that name has already been taken by someone else. Then give the blog a title, so in this example it would be “My Diary”. Your finished URL will look like this:

mydiary.intervalinc.com

Note: If we spot any blog names with a nonsensical jumble of letters and/or numbers, they will be deleted as this looks like sp6m and that won’t be tolerated here. The whole idea of keeping this closed to community members only is to provide a safe and good neighbourhood set of blogs for community members that the search engines will like. Keeping spammers out is our number one priority as once they get in anywhere they spoil it for everyone else.

If you want to create another blog, no problem. Make sure you’re logged in and repeat the process. It’s that simple!

All the most recently updated blogs are displayed along with a short snippet of their latest post in the sidebar on the Interval main page, so you can see what’s new.
